The new Spider-man movie is now in the midst of production. Filming has already begun and actor Andrew Garfield is now warming up to the new Spider-man suit.
Speaking of the new Spider-man suit, pictures of it have already appeared in a number of fan sites. The reception it got was quite mixed. There were those who hated it and thought that the texture of the suit made Spider-man look like a fish or a reptile. But others have showed their approval, saying that the suit is reminiscent of the suit that is featured in the comicbook Ultimate Spider-man, which is reportedly where the new film is based on.

Well the news hovers above reality but is still quite unreal for the writer of the last 3 episodes has given clues that he is having on-going negotiations with the makers of the film for the fourth and maybe the last installment is the film franchise.
News that the whole production and cast would be returning to once again play their roles is true but the studio has not admitted or denied any rumors that are out on the streets. The earliest release date for any sequel may come as far as 2011 the writer says but as to the plot and villain for the supposed sequel, nobody knows. The last installment, Spiderman 3, broke all expectations with earnings of more than a billion dollars in local and international sales far exceeding predictions for the film due to stiff competition form Shrek 3, Pirates of the Caribbean, Transformers and Harry Potter.

Spider-Man 2 on the PS2/Xbox nonetheless stands as one of the best superhero games yet. It gave you all of the powers of the hero along with a huge city to use them in. With Spider-Man 3 hitting next gen consoles, it wasn’t unreasonable to expect improvements over SM2 to make this the best superhero game yet. Unfortunately, that isn’t the case. Glitches, lazy game design, and an unmistakable feeling that the game was rushed to meet the day-and-date deadline of the movie drag Spider-Man 3 down from one of the potential all time greats down to mere bargain bin fodder.

Similar to the Spider-Man 2 game before it, Spider-Man 3 is an open world “sandbox” game where you are free to swing, jump, and crawl around New York City any way you want. As you play you earn new moves and abilities and combos that allow you to travel around faster as well as fight more effectively. There are ten different storylines you can play through which have you doing things like fighting gangs and classic Spider-Man villains as well as follow the main storyline from the movie itself. In addition, there are races spread throughout the city as well as hidden tokens to find. There is a ton of stuff to do in Spider-Man 3 in addition to the time you’ll likely spend just swinging around, so you can easily spend a good 15-20 hours with it in order to complete everything.

13.jpgIn October 2007, Spiderman director Sam Raimi said that he and the studio were looking for a new writer that would have a brand new take on the Spider-Man series. Raimi would relinquish creative control of the sequel’s story and focus on either directing or producing the script. James Vanderbilt was soon announced as screenwriter, impressing the studio with his focus on characterization. The studio also decided to limit the scope of the film to two villains.

Vanderbilt is known for having done a fair job on the script for the 2007 Zodiac movie. His most recent film Zodiac was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay by the Chicago Film Critics Association, the Satellite Awards, and the Writers Guild of America.
He is also doing the writing for the upcoming X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie, scheduled for 2009.

Let us all wait and see on the difference that James Vanderbilt can give in the classic comic superhero.

19.jpgThe third and last on the list to be described is the villain called Chameleon. He is Dmitri Smerdyakov, an illegitimate son of the patriarch of the Russian Kravinoff family and a servant. His father and half-brother, Dmitri, treated him with brutality and contempt. Because of this, he was deeply scarred and began to repress his very identity. This led him to become a master of disguise, wherein he can perfectly impersonate a person, and began to be called the Chameleon. To conceal his identity, he basically relies on his skills, mixture of costumes and make-up. He has a multi-pocket disguise vest where he keeps all his needed materials. Because of his many impersonations, the Chameleon, is tagged as one of Spiderman’s elusive enemy.

morlun.pngThere are a lot of speculations as who will be next villain that will test Spiderman’s strength. And the top three that is most likely to be chosen is Morlun, Lizard and Chameleon. A description of each villain will be given out.

First on Morlun, he is known to be a vampiric being that for centuries walked the earth and came from a race called “The Ancients”. He requires a pure source of power like the Totems (core power source of the universe) to satisfy his hunger, but feeding a lesser source like humans and super humans is just a temporary satisfaction. He is considered to have overwhelming powers that once he touched a person, he can easily track him wherever he is.

14.jpgCinematical just got an information from a reliable Hollywood insiders, that Spiderman 4 and 5 might be shot at the same time.

The news goes that James Vanderbilt turned in a working draft of a fourth installment for the Spider-Man franchise. According to their source, “his story arc has encompassed two films, making Spider-Man 5 shootable at the same time. The studio saw dollar signs and is in the process of reworking his deal to snatch up the story arc.”

If this is indeed accurate, we still have to see if director Sam Raimi, Tobey Maguire, and other casts and crews will return for the two films.

But to date there is still no official words from Sony regarding this rumors.
