The new Spider-man movie is now in the midst of production. Filming has already begun and actor Andrew Garfield is now warming up to the new Spider-man suit.
Speaking of the new Spider-man suit, pictures of it have already appeared in a number of fan sites. The reception it got was quite mixed. There were those who hated it and thought that the texture of the suit made Spider-man look like a fish or a reptile. But others have showed their approval, saying that the suit is reminiscent of the suit that is featured in the comicbook Ultimate Spider-man, which is reportedly where the new film is based on.

For those who were dissatisfied with how poorly Venom was dealt with in the last Spiderman movie, here’s some good news. Venom is going to star in his very own movie! Studio execs have recently met with A-list screenwriters about a spinoff of the film. There are some legal issues that need to be dealt with though. Marvel enjoys making their own films without the intrusion of major studios. But Venom’s inclusion in Spider Man 3 might cause a few complications. Does that mean Sony has the rights to Venom or does Marvel still have control over how the character should be portrayed? Also, questions like “Is Spider Man going to be there?” and “Will other super villians appear” can only be answered in the future. For now we can only hope that the movie turns out to be an intelligent blockbuster hit.
The Spectacular Spider Man: The Animated Series just debuted on Kids’ WB on March 1, 2008. The series promises to be the most exciting comic book themed animated show in years. Featuring a sixteen-year old Peter Parker in his junior year of high school, he’s got the face the challenge of concealing his superhero identity while battling villains like Venom and Green Goblin. This isn’t how it went in the comic books but the show’s creators realized that Peter Parker’s journey from ordinary kid to superhero needs to be condensed. The comic book’s story arcs will simply be presented in a more abbreviated format so important characters from Spidey’s history can be included with more contemporary characters.
